Description
An advanced one day course covering trigger point therapy.
Trigger point therapy is a neuromuscular therapy which speeds recovery from injury, corrects muscular imbalances and relieves pain.
Trigger points develop in muscles and fascia following trauma or extreme tension, and the tissues are held in a shortened position over a period of time. The increased tension will restrict blood and increases pressure on nerve endings which results in pain. Oxygen and the supply of nutrients is reduced resulting in metabolites and chemical irritants to build up within the muscle, this in turn affects the normal physiological functioning of the area.
Trigger point therapy is used to:
Deactivate the trigger point and relieve pain.
to improve circulation and return to normal physiological function.
To relieve the tightness/spasm of the muscle fibres.
To stretch the muscle fibres and return to a full range of movement
Learn how to locate trigger points and understand pain referral patterns.
A more advanced technique to assist your clients, working directly with the problem area and relieving symptoms and pain.
