This course has been specifically designed for complete beginners to massage or for those who work within the care industry, or who are caring for loved ones within the home. This course will teach you to be able to give healing touch through massage to help relax tired aching muscles and to relieve stress and tension.
On this course you will learn: How to take a client consultation prior to treatment, when it is safe to massage, the benefits of massage and a brief explanation for anatomy and physiology, a full hand, arm, leg and foot massage routine and how to adapt the treatment for individual clients.
This course is also suitable for parent’s to use on their children, who may benefit from the relaxation and therapeutic benefits of massage. Massage has been a proven therapeutic treatment for children on the autistic spectrum.
Students who are planning to offer massage treatments in a care home or hospice need to obtain the permission of the qualified medical practitioner employed by the centre prior to offering a treatment. The name of the practitioner and their position and qualifications should be noted on the client record card along with the date that the permission was granted.
