Entry requirements:

This course is for the professional therapist to add to their existing knowledge and qualifications.
You will be required to have a level 3 certificate in Anatomy and Physiology and level 3 in full body Massage qualification (Swedish, Holistic or Body). We accept one certificate which combines both or individual certificates if you have gained these qualifications separately.

Previous qualifications accepted are, ITEC, NVQ, VTCT, BTEC, CIDESCO and CIBTAC, the Yve level 3 Diploma or a similar qualification.

Please note: We do not accept courses that have been taken online.

Description

Manual lymphatic drainage massage is gentle form of massage that encourages the movement of lymph fluid around the body.

The treatment assists the flow of the fluid in the lymphatic system for the removal of toxins and waste from the tissues.

Manual lymphatic drainage massage can benefit clients suffering from disorders such as:

Lymphedema – Due to a build up of lymph fluid in the body

Lipoedema – An abnormal build up of fat in the legs or more uncommonly in the arms

Phlebedema  (phlebolymphedema) – A progressive disease

Arthropathy – A form of joint disease, of which arthritis is a type

Post surgical oedema – A normal occurrence post surgery

Oedema – Excess fluid becoming trapped in the bodily tissues
