This course is available to complete beginners with no previous massage experience or qualification who are interested in qualifying in and practising Reflexology, or for existing therapists wishing to further their skills and knowledge.

We are part of the Gateway to Membership programme with the Association of Reflexologist (AOR) – This allows direct access to membership for students studying or have studied with the School, insurance is included in this membership for students case studies during the course.

This course consists of 7 practical days in the classroom, which must be attended. The dates for each course are found below.

Description

This course is available to complete beginners with no previous massage experience or qualification who are interested in qualifying in and practising Reflexology, or for existing therapists wishing to further their skills and knowledge.

Students should possess a good understanding of written and spoken English.

This is an intensive course run over 7 months, each course consists of 7 practical days in the classroom and outside home study for assignments and anatomy, physiology and pathology studies.

Throughout this qualification you will develop your understanding and practical skills to competently provide reflexology treatments,gain knowledge and understanding of relevant anatomy and physiology, health and safety, and client care.

You will develop a range of technical skills enabling you to use reflexology techniques for relaxation and to promote self-healing for your clients, and develop interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.

Employment opportunities

This qualification will confirm your competence for employment as a reflexologist. You will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a reflexologist. Career opportunities as a reflexologist exist in a variety of contexts, including:

– Working in commercial complementary therapy clinics
– Working a commercial spa or salon
– Working in the NHS in hospitals and care homes
– Working independently/self-employed/mobile/home-based settings

We suggest that students put at least 14-16 hours a week aside for home study.
